Remember back when Jessa and Jinger (along with Erin and Michaella Bates and Priscilla Keller) visited Chicago in "19 Kids and Counting" Deep Dish Duggars? Here are some pictures from their experience on the glass ledge at the Willis Tower (previously the Sears Tower) Skydeck. Enjoy!
The Skydeck glass ledge juts out 4.3 feet from the 103rd story of the Willis Tower and is suspended 1,353 feet above ground! Wondering why Jinger isn't in the pictures? She's terrified of heights and couldn't bring herself to step out for more than a second. Standing on the ledge is ten times more frightening than it looks (we speak from experience)!

Do you think you could handle the Skydeck ledge?

This goes beyond a fear of heights to me. I think before September 11th I would have trusted the building. Now though, it would bother me. Eek.
ReplyDeleteNo way, who was with them besides the 2 Bate's girls?
ReplyDeleteThe girl in the orange shirt is Anna's sister. And the man in the bottom picture was their Skydeck tour guide. Not sure who the other three are.

I definitely wouldn't be brave enough to handle the Skydeck tower. I probably would have just stayed on the ground! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's Michealla.
ReplyDeleteE-Z Peezy!
ReplyDeleteRock on Duggars.
I think i would give it a try, i'm not really afraid of heights. when i was on vacation with my family in Korea, we went to the Seoul Tower, that was really high up, of course there is a restaurant up in the tower, but it was fun!
ReplyDeleteOmw I would have died up there!!! There braver than me by a lot !!! Lol
ReplyDeleteWow, I don't know if I'd have the guts to stand out there. It looks pretty scary! :-)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to point out that Michaela Bates's name is actually spelled "Michaella". You may look at the Bates' website and check if you like.

Great pictures! I remember that episode well (we record them so we can watch them over and over!). As for me stepping out on the Skydeck? I think I would. I'm not usually afraid of heights (it depends, though).
ReplyDeleteIf I had the chance to step out on that ledge, I HOPE that I would take it. However.....I have trouble just looking at those pictures!
ReplyDeleteIt would be such a growth moment but I would really try to do it. I don't a spirit of fear to run my life.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed with Jinger walking on the BIG bridge in Colorado.
Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI believe that the couple with the baby served as the girls' chaperones for the trip. I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I remember them mentioning that. I'm terrified of heights, but I try to make myself do things I'm initially scared of to try to get over it.
ReplyDeleteThe Duggar's have added a new album to their Picasa album titled "August 2011!"
ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun!! When I watched the eposide, I told my family "I would LOVE to stand out on that!!!" I'm not afraid of heights, I LOVE heights!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like what my two sisters
ReplyDelete,my bro's girlfriend and me 'n' my dad went on. A very scary observation tower. I would of freaked out!
