The Bates family, LIVE on tonight's broadcast of "Primetime Nightline: My (Extra) Ordinary Family"!
Gil and Kelly Bates and their 18 (soon to be 19) children live in the majestic Tennessee hills and are dear friends of the Duggars.

I can't wait to watch the Bates tonight! But I was also wanting to ask don't the Duggars have some kind of wisdom booklets they do? My mom is going to homeschool me and my 4 younger siblings, and while reading the Duggars second book she saw that the do some type of wisdom booklet, and she wanted to get that for us kids, but she tryed searching for it on the internet, and she couldn't find it, so I was wondering where the Duggars get those booklets from?
ReplyDeleteZach Bates is now courting Sarah, one of the girls who visited the Bates family on 18 kids and counting (playing bluegrass with her sister and brother). You can see cute pictures of them together on the bates family website :)
ReplyDeleteHey, is there any way for people that missed it to watch it. Perhaps it'll end up online?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis was an amazing show. I am so happy that there was something uplifting to watch late at night while folding clothes instead of the usual dreary news. I must say I was skeptical of the idea of watching a family with so many kids but by the middle/end I was crying and wanting my own LARGE family. Thanks for being an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI saw last night during my quiet time and a a pop online that I missed it!! I'm upset I did because I adore the Bates family. ( and we live close to each other here in TN!) I was wondering do you ladies know if I can catch the full episode online or will it broadcasted again sometime soon?? I really do appreciate it! God bless.

The Duggars' wisdom booklets come from Advanced Training Institute (ATI). You can read more about the wisdom booklets here: http://ati.iblp.org/ati/about/curriculum/wisdombooklets/.
ReplyDeleteWe're not familiar with ATI, but it looks like you have to be a paying member in order to use their wisdom booklets. They do, however, have something called Wisdom Booklet Language Arts, which can be purchased by nonmembers. Follow this link to learn more: http://store.iblp.org/products/LAS58A/.
And follow this link to order: http://ati.iblp.org/ati/family/curriculum/wbla/.
Hope this helps!

For those who may have missed this, find Primetime on the abc.com website and you should be able to watch it. I just did and it was a fantastic show. By watching the Bates and the Duggars, I am being influenced to lead a better, more godly life and raise my two and a half year old son with good character and values. When I see what is on Tv today and what some teens are doing, it scares me. With God's guidance, I pray I won't have to worry too much!
ReplyDeleteHI i live in Australia, is it possible you set up a link to it? I went to abc primetime website but they can't stream to Australia.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but the Bates have their own blog. Kelly is always on their answering questions. :)

Thank you for posting the link! I just finished watching it and really enjoyed it!!
ReplyDeleteThank-you so much Lily and Ellie as I missed it hopefullly it will stream through for Canada.
ReplyDeleteUgh! wish I knew
ReplyDeleteIt was a fantastic show! Learned some things about this wonderful family I did not know. Just like your family they are a GREAT inspiration! Sure would love to see one of the Bates and Duggars get MARRIED any chance of that?!!!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it's only available for US residents!
ReplyDeleteWell Zach Bates is courting Sarah Reith. No Duggar girls are currently courting.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great show and I most certainly learned a lot of new things about The Bates family that I now know! I love how they make their own swimsuits! I think the Wholesome Wear Swim Suits are pricey!
ReplyDeleteIs there anyway for Canadian residents to view it online??
ReplyDeleteThanks at least if you can try to find out that'd be much appreciated!
We have done some research and, unfortunately, it looks like the only place to watch the ABC broadcast about the Bates is on the ABC website (http://abc.go.com/watch/abc-news-specials/SH559036/VD55140815/really-big-family?cid=abccomsearch_results). If anyone knows of a way that our readers outside the United States can view the show, please share :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!

We're not sure if it will play in every country, but it's worth a try! Let us know if it works for you.

I have tried that already it doesn't work unless you live with-in the US! I appreciate your effort though i do believe ABC is an American News network and the Bates family is American so it's understandable!
ReplyDeleteHi there, I am an Aussie and I managed to watch the story in segments from the ABC site, if you google ABC Bates ... type in Bates in the search it comes up with part 1,2,4 & 5 part 3 is titled something different like courting ... anyway I watched the whole thing eventually. Here is the link http://abcnews.go.com/search?searchtext=bates#20_

ReplyDeleteReaders outside the US, make sure to try the link she posted: http://abcnews.go.com/search?searchtext=bates#20_
You'll see a video about the Bates family from January 19th, and then there are five parts (all labeled August 23rd or 24th) to the most recent broadcast.
~Lily and ELlie
Thank-you so much i'll try that!
ReplyDeleteCheers Fiona, I am a Kiwi so hello from across the ditch and hello Duggar fans :)
