On tonight's episode of "19 Kids and Counting," Duggars Snowed In...
- Jim Bob and the boys prepared for a blizzard by hauling plenty of extra firewood for their wood burning stove, which keeps the family's tile floors nice and toasty in winter.
- Much to the excitement of the kids, the weatherman's predictions were a little off, and instead of just six-inches of snow, the Duggars woke up to two feet of fresh powder--a new record for northwest Arkansas.
- To lessen the boatload of work left up to the town's single snowplow, Jim Bob used his backhoe to clear the road in front of the family's house. "The backhoe's kind of like a big boy's toy," the father of nineteen explained to younger son Justin.
- Meanwhile, Grandma and the kids whipped up a Duggar family favorite--snow ice cream! You can make this frozen treat at home--the next time it snows, that is. Click here for the recipe. The kids were quick to remind viewers to use only white snow.
- John-David's towing business sure came in handy during the blizzard! He and Jim Bob spent hours pulling cars (and even semis) out of the ditch.
- Dad and the little kids bundled up and ventured out to play in the winter-wonderland, but it was pretty cold! When the sun came out a few days later, Amy and friend Caleb came over, and the entire family (even Michelle!) had a blast sledding down the Duggars' hill on campaign signs leftover from John-David's run for alderman.
Who won a book and how do we no thanks kathie
ReplyDeleteMy favorite winter activity is playing in the snow with my six children. I'm always wanting a huge snowstorm each winter. We don't always get one where we live, but we always hope. When I know there's a snowstorm coming, I always make a big batch of soup and cookies. We play in the snow and come in to eat soup, cookies and hot chocolate. Mmmmm. The Duggar show was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite activity in the winter is sledding down the neighbours yard. Most of my neighbours have huge hills in their front yard, so its always very fun. This winter I hope that I can try to make snow ice cream like the Duggars. It sounds very good. I saw while they were sledding a pit bull was playing in the snow with them. Was that theirs? I love pit bulls very much and I was so happy to see that they let a pit bull into their life and werent scared like so many others.
ReplyDeleteI like making big pots of homemade soup to chase off the chill and fill the house with warm, delicious smells.
ReplyDeleteWe never get any real snow here...maybe one or two inches max. Thinking about making a big move to the East Coast for the snow and culture. My kids would love the chance to go sledding!
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel!
ReplyDeleteThe pit bull belongs to Amy's friend, Caleb.

Well I love to go sledding and start snow ball fights. I love to act like a kid in the snow!
ReplyDeleteI have a rescued American Staffordshire Terrier mix and I loved the part of this episode showing the pit bull playing with all the kids. It's refreshing to see pit bulls in the lime light with so many kids, and everybody was having a great time!
