College Degrees for Jana and John-David

Earlier this week, we wrote about the Duggars and CollegePlus! a program that Jim Bob and Michelle explained during our February interview.
Our post on Saturday talked about the specific degrees that Josh, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger are pursuing, but readers have been asking about Jana and John-David. Thanks to Caitlin from CollegePlus! we have the answers:

Jana, who is currently working on her general education requirements, is considering a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). John-David is still uncertain whether a degree is necessary for the goals he has. Both Duggars are in the midst of a Life-Purpose program and have been assigned personal coaches to help them identify how to make their dreams and aspirations a reality.

What is the Life-Purpose program?
The Life-Purpose program is a course that all CollegePlus! students must complete. With an emphasis on the importance of guidance from God, parents, and mentors, the program helps students determine how to use their gifts and talents to actualize their life goals.

Do you have any questions about the Duggars or CollegePlus!? Post them as a comment, and we will send them to Caitlin, the PR Manager of CollegePlus! who has been kind enough to offer her help.

  2. How can I determine by my zip code which college my degree would come from?

  3. John David doesn't exactly look like a student. If he wants to run for office, he should pursue some type of higher degree. The entire family uses poor grammar, for example saying "she or he does good" instead of "does well"....basic, basic, basic....so irritating.

  5. Hi Alexis,

Here's an answer from Caitlin from CollegePlus!
You would get your degree from the college you choose. It's based on where you apply and are accepted, not your zip code.

  6. Why doesn't College Plus offer any Ministry Degrees?

  7. What are the colleges you can enroll in through CollegePlus?

  8. Hi Emily!

The regular CollegePlus! program doesn't offer ministry, but there is a way you can earn a degree that is not listed on the Majors page on the CollegePlus! website. Here's the link to learn more about that program: http://www.collegeplus.org/howitworks/collegeofyourchoice.

College of Your Choice allows you to save on tuition by getting your general education requirements out of the way--through CollegePlus!--and then transferring them to the school of your choice.

    Hope this helps!

  9. CollegePlus! works with all regionally accredited schools.
Each school's policy on what transfer credits they accept is different. If you have a school in mind, CollegePlus! is able to do extensive research with that college and find out what they accept.
A majority of CollegePlus! students earn their diplomas from Thomas Edison State College because that school accepts such a large number of transfer credits and is regionally accredited.

  10. I am interested in knowing why TLC has taken the Duggars off of prime time TV?I miss them, that is the only show I watch on that channel..

  11. I hope that CollegePlus! will edit the page as sentences like this one don´t bode well for a college website: ¨Despite his aspirations for the future, Life Purpose Planning had a big impact on his plan for the future.¨

  12. I am working on my GED. I might study with The Life Purpose planning as I really don't know what I want to do after college.

  13. I'm a 30 something who never attended college. I am currently working as a church secretary but would like to earn a degree to advance my skills. Are the degrees offered by CollegePlus! considered by the workforce in the same light as say a state university? At my current place in life a traditional school would be too financially out of reach?

  14. Hi Toni!

The degrees earned through CollegePlus! are not issued by CollegePlus! After getting general education requirements out of the way, CollegePlus! transfers your credits to the regionally accredited university of your choice, where you will graduate with a fully accredited bachelor's degree.

    Does this answer your question?

  15. Thanks for the quick response! I think I understand a bit better now. One more question. Is the Collegeplus! program still viable for someone who is past college age? Or is it geared more towards young adults. I'm trying to investigate the best options for myself. Thanks for the help!

  16. Hi Toni!

CollegePlus! is very much appropriate for someone past college age. Here's a link to testimonies from adult learners who earned their degrees through CollegePlus! and were very satisfied with the program:

  17. I applied to Thomas Edison State College based on others recommendations in the comments because they accept the most credits. I had previously attended Liberty University Online and with seven classes left to finish my bachelor's degree, I took a semester off to help a family member and they would not let me return to finish because of their very strict appeal process. TESC application process has been a nightmare. They are a very disorganized school and their procedures are daunting.

  19. In order to get into College Plus must you be Christian based or can you be from another faith? Does College Plus offer Social Work type services for a person who already has a degree?
