To announce the gender of baby #2, Josh and Anna decided that Michelle would be the only one to find out the sex at the ultrasound. She kept it a secret for an entire week, while making arrangements for a pilot to write the gender symbol in the sky with smoke. When the big day arrived, the entire family gathered in the yard and eagerly watched the airplane.

To tell my family I was pregnant I bought a shirt for my oldest son that said Only child with a slash mark down the center and then said BIG BROTHER under it. Still took people a few days to notice even with it as my profile picture. When we found out we where having another boy I let my oldest son tell everyone.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Jessica! You must have had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteMy wife and I announced the pregnancy of our sixth child by writing a letter our unborn baby and allowing our older children to open the letter at the dinner table - they were quite unable to speak!
ReplyDeleteFrom Edward, Amanda and our children William, James, Mary, Eleanor, Benjamin, Michael and Charlotte (yes, we now have another!)
With our fourth pregnancy, my husband and I made tickets like you get from ticketmaster for a concert. All the information on the ticket was about the baby - like the seat number and row were the number of child for us and number of grandchild for my husband's family. We gave the tickets to my husband's parents for Christmas that year.
ReplyDeleteI wore blue to our monthly couples(5)dinner gathering.
