Would you Try a Duggar Recipe?

When asked "Which Duggar recipe would you rather try?" the overwhelming majority voted for tater tot casserole, so here's the recipe:

Tater Tot Casserole
  • 2 pounds ground turkey (browned, seasoned, drained)
  • 3-2 pound bags of tater tots
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cans evaporated milk

Directions
  1. Evenly spread browned turkey into two large casserole dishes (9"x13")
  2. Cover with tater tots
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup with evaporated milk
  4. Pour mixture over the tater tots
  5. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees
This recipe makes 2-9"x13" pans. If you are not cooking for a Duggar-sized clan, feel free to reduce the quantities.

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for sharing. Your blogs always bring a smile to my face.

I am at present reading the Duggar's book. It's like a Godly support group in a book! : ) So many great recipes in there too to try. Plus organizing tips, recently my husband and I were out of town and we were enjoying the poignant thoughts of the Duggars. The Lord used them mightily as some good reminders.

Our family shares many times at our homeschool workshop and I plan on using this book as an example for encouragement to other homeschool moms and moms everywhere. The Duggars stick to what is right and good the Lord Jesus Christ. : )

Thanks again for the sweet blog!

  3. I have tried this recipe and love it! I am a teacher and took it to a school pitch in. So many people wanted the recipe that I ended up typing it off and running off a copy (giving credit to the Duggars of course ;)

  4. I would Love to know if all of the older Duggar children do all the housework and raising all of the little ones that come along? It's Just A Question

  5. All of the Duggar children help with housework, but they earn money ($.03 per chore). With 19 kids, it would be impossible for mom and dad to do everything, and the kids are learning important life skills as they help out. The Duggar girls even know how to change tires and car oil, and the boys can do laundry and cook. Of course, the older kids are able to do more than the younger kids, but they don't despise having to help out because they know that everything runs smoother when everyone pitches in.

  7. Tried the Tater Tot Casserole, and it's pretty good, but I topped it with sharp shredded cheddar cheese prior to baking. Now that I have all of the ingredients for Anna's Chicken-Etti, I will be trying that, too. I kept forgetting to buy the Velveeta cheese!

  8. We have had Tater Tot Casserole several times. We have began to use fresh taters to save money. We have also made the BBQ Tuna sandwiches that most everyone liked. But with six children it is not uncommon to have one that does not like something as much as the others. :)
