ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the Duggar family!! I look at the Duggar girls and they are so beautiful!! I am 15 so seeing them means a lot to me. Seeing them save their first kiss till marriage has really made me think about that too. I am so excited for the whole family!!! They are such a cute couple! Lilly and Ellie will we have to wait till next season to see the wedding? Or are they going to have a special on? I am so excited and give my congratulations to the bride and groom!!!!

I find it telling that he is having friends stand up while she is only having family. I wish their world was not so secluded. Why are they having such big church weddings when they are home churched.

ReplyDeleteThe Bates were involved with the wedding but in other ways. Erin played for their wedding as she did for Josh and Anna. There were just so many places to fill and family came first. The Duggars were not in the Bates wedding parties to my knowledge. Doesn't mean that they are not close friends. Just means they were needed in other ways to help.
Deletekms had you considered how difficult it would be for Jill to exclude even one of her sisters from the wedding party? I would make the same choice if I were in her shoes. I think it was the very best choice. It only makes sense tha t the groom would choose friends and relatives, he comes from a very small family. It makes perfect sense to be married in a church because their home church could not possibly accommodate all of the guests. I really don't think the family is as secluded as you might think. I agree that their choices are telling, but I guess they are telling us differnet things lol

ReplyDeleteJill has so many friends that she likely has to stick to her family to be fair to her very many friends, THAT is TELLING IT LIKE IT IS! Jesus is Lord of all the church activities, I would say that is why they can have such a big church wedding! PRAISE THE LORD!
ReplyDeleteIt's not hard to figure that out...Derick has ONE sibling, Jill has several sisters she loves! And they really are not secluded, if you watch the show, you see them out and about in their community all the time.......love them!

ReplyDelete@why do people keep saying this? It's probably a matter of respective family sizes. And her best friends are her sisters, that's plain to see. These girls have blogs and books and tv shows. I think the whole family is doing just fine-- with all respect, they don't need our pity. I, like many others, wish I had been brought up similarly. And the fact that you read and post here makes me think you are a little envious, too.

ReplyDeletei dont know why everyone thinks it is unusual for jill to have all her sisters in the wedding party! they are all extremely close, always have been, and i wouldn't think she would have it any other way. on the other hand, derick does not have as large a family, so of course his friends would be his personal witnesses. it's very sweet of him to include john-david & joseph considering he hasnt 'known' them very long. shows he has a great sense of family and i commend him for that.
anon-25, yes, madison is/was a male name long before it was ever used as a female name (ie leslie, lynn, ashley, evan, devon to name a few more recent ones). i think now it is considered one of the 'unisex' names......................dac

DeleteI had all three of my sisters in my wedding. Plus five friends. But if I had eight sisters, then I would have just had my sisters and not friends. it makes perfect sense for her to include all of her sisters. And it's really not our business if she wants to call Johannah a bridesmaid or a flower girl. I can't wait to see the video of the wedding. So happy for them!
